The battle for our eternal destiny was never intended to be easy. It is only in our daily moment to moment free will choices that we achieve victory over our human nature. And once our flesh has experienced a taste of the divine reality our most difficult struggles begin. Our urge to avoid God must always be mirrored in front of our need to serve God by loving man and serve man by loving God. Having once felt the joys of eternal life in our veins
there is no recourse but to face the struggle
that taunts us even as we sleep. And finally having made the choice to rise from the ashes
of our self-destructive tendencies we experience
the mortal version of the resurrection of our souls
by sensing God's joyous approval in our hearts
and we know what must be done. We know that it doesn't matter how many times we fail. We know it doesn't matter how many times we are ashamed of our past. We know once and for all the only thing that really matters is that we have made the final and irrevocable consecrated free-will choice to forever be a child of God, scars and all. Our will must be dedicated to doing the will of our Father and serving others as Jesus served and continues to serve us. We must rise up. We must succeed. We must truly become alive and breathe the air of spiritual truth, beauty, and goodness. At the same time we must also know we work in the presence of the same moral decay and darkness that swallows every good seed that can
only live anew in the light of God by its very death.
"Warfare" is dedicated to my struggle and the struggles of every person who
says "Yes" to God regardless of the battles and regardless of the price.
