The Planting Seed
PICK UP STICKS
If your mind draws a blank,
is it still art?
Should Conformity be a yardstick,
not a ruler?
If you stand for nothing,
will you fall for anything?
Is backsliding better than
stonewalling?
If pro is the opposite of
con, is congress the opposite of progress?
Why is evil the mirror reflection
of live?
Do sacred cows taste better
than regular cows?
Can time limited mortals
live in the eternal moment?
Can men and women who say
they serve and love the living God reach maturity while following the
religious traditions of their ancestors?
Do our traditions in any
way resemble those Jesus sought to replace with the personal relationship
with our Heavenly Father?
Does God care if you go
to church?
Does God judge us as harshly
as do our neighbors?
Is it really more blessed
to give than receive, and if so why don't more people do it?
Was the New Covenant intended
to replace the Old Covenant?
If so, was it because Jesus
insisted that we begin to recognize the Creator as a loving Heavenly
Father instead of a God bent on anger, jealousy, and one who participates
and endorses war?
Did Jesus endorse the separation
of church and state when he said we should render unto Caesar that which
belongs to Caesar, and unto God that which belongs to God?
Does God really expect one
of His Muslim children to believe in Jesus after America has made Christianity
a religion that celebrates our western culture?
Does Christianity owe the
American Indians an apology or do we think that it was only the government
that mistreated them?
When Jesus warned people
to not grieve the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth poured out on all
flesh, was it because He knew that we would create a religion about
Him rather than a religion about what He said we should do?
Is it worse to reject Jesus
or the Holy Spirit?
Is the Holy Spirit working
ceaselessly on behalf of all humanity?
Is Jesus brilliant enough
to have foreseen where we are right now?
Is Jesus more concerned
that all faiths find the one, true God more than Himself?
If not, doesn't He know
our time-bound limitations and ignorant predisposition?
Will Jesus send to hell
a Vietnam veteran who turned his back on Christianity after being called
a baby killer by the Christians whose freedoms he fought to defend?
Will the Mercy and Forgiveness
of a loving Heavenly Father turn His back on the Australian Aborigines?
Do we in our arrogance really
think that we serve God any better than the Hindus just because we know
Jesus?
If a Hindu or Moslem lays
down their life for their fellow man, enacting the "greater love has
no man than this", does that mean the ultimate love of 'losing one's
life to gain it' doesn't apply to them?
Does that 'greatest love'
of which Jesus spoke serve the living God because the Holy Spirit is
working within them?
Are we too impatient because
we selfishly want Jesus to return in our lifetime?
If we are too impatient
is it possible that several thousand years might still come to pass
before the wheat and chaff can be safely separated?
Did anybody mess with the
Bible and ignore the Divine Copyright warning in the book of Revelation?
Why do so many varying Christian
sects exist?
Was it God who created the
many versions of Christianity or was it man?
Do men fight and die over
their different versions of Christianity?
Is it arrogant for men and
women to insist that they have the "chosen" flavor of Christianity?
Do we really think God approves
the slaughter of innocent blood?
If the Protestants and Catholics
knew they worshipped the same God, making them brothers, could they
still kill each other?
If they can kill each other,
does that mean they worship different Gods?
Could the God that Jesus
introduced humanity to, the one who heals, delivers, forgives and has
mercy be the same God of either side?
What about the Southern
Baptists, Independent Baptists, Mormons, Episcopalians, Seventh Day
Adventists, Church of God Scientist, Charismatics, Evangelicals, African
Methodist Episcopal, Methodists, Apostolics, Assemblies of God, Wesleyans,
Mennonites, Pentecostals, Churches of Christ, Church of God, Full Gospel,
Holiness, Evangelical Covenant, Alliance, Christian, Church of God Scientist,
Disciples of Christ, Latter Day Saints, Lutheran, Jehovah's Witness,
Non-Denominational, Inter-Denominational, Unitarian, and probably Un-Denomination
for Christ's sake…what about all these different beliefs? Who is served
by chaos within the body of Christ? WHO IS SERVED BY CHAOS WITHIN THE
BODY OF CHRIST? WHO IS SERVED BY THE BLOODSHED WITHIN THE BODY OF CHRIST?
WHO IS SERVED BY INTOLERANCE, PRIDE, UNFORGIVENESS, CHOSEN PEOPLE SUPERIORITY,
ARROGANT KINDERGARTEN VIRTUES WITHIN THE HOLY, SUPREME, UNQUALIFIED,
ETERNAL LOVING MIND OF GOD?
I doubt that it is our loving
Heavenly Father.
Do as Jesus said. No more,
no less. Do as Jesus did. Do good as you pass by.
Remember, God indwells all
who make moral and unselfish decisions. God is waiting for the opportunity
to become alive and serve and bear the fruits of the spirit within all
mortals on this planet.
Our Heavenly Father knows
best. He knows Jesus knew Him best. God knows, sooner or later, we all
experience Jesus before we continue in the grand eternal ascent towards
Paradise.
Is it possible we, as Christians,
have judged others too soon?
Is our universe too small?
Is our God too small?
Is our love too small?
